When I restored my F-20 the fuel line's were steel and I believe they were original. Some of the fittings and what not were copper though along with some of the hardware in the settiment bowl assembly. If you were making your own it would be hard to tell the difference after they were painted as to which metal was used. May I ask what is wrong with the ones you are replacing? Unless the line twists when you losen the fittings to remove a line, I can't imagine how a line could get damaged.
