When I stand back and take a look at everything that I have done with vehicles in general, I find alot of enjoyment in Tractors. I have been into restoring/building Muscle cars for the last 15 years, and that is tedious work if your doing it right, not to mention expensive when compared to Tractor restoring. When I compare the two hobby's and the people I have met at many of the Farm shows and such, I find I enjoy this hobby more. I have met some fine people in this hobby so far, and what I find about them is they dont quit for the most part. Nothing is to big a job if your willing to put the time more so than the money into it. I have only been into Tractors for about a year now, being a City Boy{Detroit} I never had exposure to these fine machines. And talk about easy to work on, WOW! And the overall price and availability of parts and reproduction parts is just fantastic! Just half to be more carefull with the weight of those parts ;0) And I forgot how much I enjoy just working on pure American machinery, the cars where starting to become a chore more than an enjoyment, with chasing parts and the price of parts and such, it was turning my hair gray, and not to mention I would have a Heart Attack everytime someone would get to close to my Cars! I have had people sit on the fenders of my cars at shows, bump into them with keys while walking, and not give it a second thought to the work it took to get that old car to where it is. I have found at the Tractor shows, people have been much more respectable towards other peoples property and equipment. And very friendly for the most part. So I say rebuild that old Iron, I dont think you would be sorry when your done and you know YOU did it! Thats been my observation so far about this hobby, maybe others have a different opinion, but its still a breath of fresh air for me..Take care and good luck. BD
