Boo Hoo Front Seal Woes

My replacement front seal for the Farmall A is not a super tight fit in the timing gear cover.
I'm wondering about what kind of epoxy I could use that would be immune to oil and temp.
Would epoxy work ? I understand the seal should be pressed in, but a previous seal must have seized onto the shaft and was spinning in the cover. The seal I took out was actually SOLDERED in. There is no damage to the cover but I am just slightly oversize on the cover.
