i used the sealed power 8000 altitude pistons ,and stood them .030 out of the block on the quench side and had like 375 pounds cranking commpresion and could not hold head gaskets in it,it also had a old M & W 1/2 stroker in it.we backed it down buy trimming the top of the pistons.leve about .050 on the quench side for clerance and whatch the three corners were the gasket comes to the edge of the sleves we had to trim them there for clerance ,just check and double check every thing and take your head to a good speed shop and have it done,2 years ago we won the 7500-8500 div-4 div-5 nation wide with a little 329 cubic inch motor in a SMTA. it,s been out there now 6 years and have not done a thing to it. i would look for timing some were between 28-32 degreeze, but we run cam-2 racing fuel.the motor leekes no water internally. good luke, last year we ended up no-4 in the nation go to NATPA they have a weeb and look under jerry leek,we also run a 660 but it,s just a stocker.
