Jim, Both the lines were looped, the one from the Starting tank to the bowl and the one from the bowl to the carb. This was done for two reasons, for vibration over time would crack the line and also to cool the fuel a little so you won't get vaper lock when working out in a very hot field. I believe that the first was more important then the second though.
