First off, I can't help you with the GEO ALT wiring. But you have a couple of other options.

1. Keep your generator and get rebuild for 12v and maintain your postivie ground. Easiest- no rewiring.

2. Add a 10SI alternator and change to 12v negative ground. (get the one wire converted alternator from your local auto electric rebuild shop)- still easy and cheap

3. Buy a 6/12 battery- popular among classic car restorers. Maintain your 6 volts lights and generator, but have 12 volts for starting. A little rewiring work to the starter. (Check hemmings motor news for more info)


I have a 39" H wired up for 12 volts with a Delco 10SI alternator, and distributor. Since you have a magneto, your run/kill switch circuit should be left alone. Correct me if I'm wrong guys...If you get a 1 wire alternator all you have to do is run a wire to the "-" side of amp gage. Run 1 wire from "+" post on amp gage to hot side of starter button. Reverse the gage connection if your gage reads backwards while the tracotor is running. Make sure your battery is hooked up to negative ground(bolt to starter mount on clutch housing). Postive battery post should run up to push starter button, and then continue to starter post on side of starter housing. It should be the same as stock 6v. Remove any old wiring from the generator to light switch box. Your lights should still work, just change the bulbs to 12v and make sure the lamps have a good ground.
