Even IHC themselves improved that design. ALL of My Dad's old M's, M-TA's, etc. had a square shaped notch throttle quadrant and the new style lever had a replaceable special bolt to match the square notches. When I worked at FARMALL as a Production Scheduler I was responsible for scheduling the months requirement of quadrants thru the mill that made the notches. Would have been in about 1977. Biggest problem with the saw-tooth or the square style notch was when the throttle finally vibrated out of the notch and slowed the tractor down. If it was under a hard load like grinding feed, the tractor could kill. I have a friction throttle on My Super H, and it'll probably always stay that way.
