I use an inline fuel filter. And regularly clean the sediment bowl. After a week of steady use the sloshing gasoline will have washed out most of the debris. Sitting idle is the worst treatment you can give a Farmall. After all, they wern't named Sitall :-) What I am trying to say is run the tractor, use it, and the tank will clean itself up. If you don't install an inline filter, you'll get expert at pulling the bottom half of the carburetor off a hot engine to clean it out. I've had the usually stuck venturi disappear into the grass more than once. When the sediment plugs the inlet to the sediment bowl, take the gas line loose at the carb and blow back into the gas tank to fluff it up and you can keep running. If you do this, make sure you don't get even a little gasoline in your mouth. The government says it is a deadly poison, even without the lead. It's too late for me, I've swallowed enough gasoline (leaded)siphoning in my younger days to kill 100 white mice. If it wasn't for all my brain damage I might be driving green tractors.
