I have both an M and a Massey 175 ( one size larger than the 165) I would not want to use the M with a bucket unless it had power steering. The M has been much more reliable, but the Massey was badly abused before I bought it, so that might have something to do with it. Diesel, 3 point hitch,live Pto, and power steering make a lot of sense for a tractor that you will be using regularly. Every year I swear I will get a Char-Lynn kit for the M, but something else always eats up the money. Either tractor is good, why don't you buy both.
