I live in Southeastern N.C. and the Cub and Super A were neck-in-neck as far as what Farmall was most popular. I have always said they were to us what the H and M were to the midwest. 140 was very popular too--I had a former IH salesman tell me that their dealership ordered 200 140's when they first came out and had them sold in no time. Also heard a lot of stories about dealers hoarding them when IH discontinued the 140. As far as later tractors, JD became the dominant force around here, but I would venture a guess on the 1066 and 1086 being most popular late model tractors. (And remember, a 1066 and like IH tractors still carried FARMALL on their decals until 1973.) al P.S. Another thing about the A/Super A/100/130/140. JD people get so excited about the JD D being made for so long. Really if you look at an actual tractor design the A series has them beat--to me comparing the first JD D and the last one is like comparing a JD 4020 to a 8310 or a Farmall Regular to a caseIH Magnum! The late D was a TOTALLY different tractor. You could swap a lot of stuff on a '39 Farmall A and a '80 140 pretty easy.
