H carb rebuild

I'm in the rebuild process and find out the float has some gas in it. So, I figure it's pointless putting it back in since it won't float if it gets full of gas. Any ideas on how to solve this problem. I'm afraid to just jump in and start something before getting some good advice. Thanks in advance, RK Smith.
