I just did my '44 A. Jack up the tractor from the center i.e. clutch bell. Make sure you block up the back tires so the tractor doesn't roll. After jacking up , I put some big wood blocks under the clutch bell to hold it up. You have to jack it up enough so that the front tires are off the floor about 2 inches. Remove all the stuff from the front, rad , fan, etc...On the A , I also had to remove the governor as it is mounted on top the timing chain cover. Once you are down to the pulley, I had to pull mine with a bearing splitter as there is no threads on the A shaft end. ****NOTE: You may find that when you order the new shaft seal , it may not fit real tight into the timing cover, I had to use a strong sealant to hold it in. Still not sure why it was out of tolerance about .006 I will actually be installing my timing gear cover and pulley back on today.
