Need some 600 diesel info?

Hi everybody,

I ran across a International 600 diesel this past weekend(looks similar to a WD-9). The motors is stuck, and the rear tires are fair. The front tires are shot, and missing one front rim. This appears to be the diesel that starts on gas then switches to diesel. It has the fenders, lights, live pto?, live hydraulics, and a drawbar. The owner says it's rare, because IH only made them for a year or two until the 650 was produced. So here are my questions:

1. The guy wants $750 for it- I think it's too much for a stuck motor, and a possible cracked head. What to you guys think? Does the rarity justify the price?

2. How many of these tractors were made? What about the number of diesels?

3.What year is it? Serial No. 743 J? That's all I could see on the tag..
