I borrowed my neighbors M last spring to spray pasture because he already had the tank hooked on and none of my tractors had a bracket to fit his pump. When I shut her off one time to clean the nozzle screens, the same thing happened. I called him thinking I had just bought him a rebuild. He told me on the phone the procedure of loosening the starter and rocking it. Tractor and pasture are still doing fine.
