ta adjustment

I have a 350 util. that the ta is engaged all the time, even with the lever all the way forward. what is the adjustment procedure? with the way the tractor is operating now it is extremely difficult to disengage it from gear when there is any pressure on the trans, such as stopped and on a hill or with the bucket buried and can't go forward and have to put it in reverse.
