Gear whine is characteristic of the the Super A, the C and other tractors that have the same transmission. Especially in 4th gear. Make sure you have good clean oil in there. If it's not getting any louder, I doubt you have a problem. If you want to inspect the transmission, I don't think it is a big deal to take the cover off and look in there to see if there are any bad bearings, etc.
