Most A and Super A tractors had the serial plate on the seat mount as others described. Very early A models had the plate on the guard below the pedals. The whole guard may be gone. All but the last A engine numbers were the same as the serial number (if it has the original engine). The engine number is stamped into a machined boss at the top of the engine block, right side, near the front.
