We have always done our own painting as far back as I can remember. Small family farmers usually don't have the extra cash to pay someone else to do things like that. Anyways, we have had good luck with everything we have painted. All it takes is time and patience. The more time you spend with prep work - sanding, priming, resanding, body filler, etc. - the better it will look. Also, I recommend using a hardener in your paint, it will really bring out the shine and make for a long lasting paint job. A good place to start is to ask any questions you might have on the new body work board here at ytmag. I'm sure there are lots of helpful folks that spend time there. I'm no expert at painting, but you can sure email me anytime if you have a question and I will do my best to help out. For pics of my work, click on the link below. Steven
