Jim,
When you activate your lever for the hitch, it moves. When the hitch moves, feedback linkage is suppost to shut off the hydraulics when the hitch reaches position.

Early models had a control cable coming from the left end of the rockshaft to the valve under the instument panel. Later models and a field change kit for the cable models used a mechanical linkage.

I converted mine from cable to mechanical.
