I remember that being a problem with some of our tractors when we were caught away from the machine shed and they got rained on. The moisture would eventually go away when they sat in the shed for a while. You might try removing the tach and hitting it with a blow dry through the cable hole. Might help. If nothing else keep it off the tractor in a controlled environment such as your home for a few days and see if it clears up before reinstalling it.
