I suppose the band brakes on the W6 are the same as the M. The problems you have can be repaired fairly easily. You can get new bands from Case/IH and other sources. Many folks say they prefer the band brakes to the disks. I don't know if the disk brakes from a Super series would fit or not, but I do know that IH offered a disk brake made by Lambert as an option on the H and M. These are not very common, but if you could find a set at a salvage yard, it would likely be a bolt on change. That is if the brakes on the W6 and the M are the same. Some of the linkage may be different with the disk brakes. The Lambert brakes are not the same as the super series disk brakes.
