I have a 36 F-20 and my forth gear is middle and back so according to Dick I have the slower transmission. I didn't know that this 4th gear was considered a road gear. Maybe it is only considered a road gear on the faster transmissions but it is my understanding that the faster forth isn't really much faster than the the slower forth and I know the slower forth isn't fast at all. It is my understanding that the difference in speed is less than 1 mile an hour but I guess that would make a difference at 3.5 mph. I know you could get an after market road gear that could be added and it went in front of transmission between tansmission and clutch. I have seen one of these but never drove one, but I have heard that it was compareable to the H's road gear in speed. I believe you had to shift F-20 to neutral and pull a lever to get the road gear shifted into gear. I'm not sure but this may have locked engine and output shaft of transmission together. I don't know if any of this info will help ya but I hope it does.

How can I explain the sensation and exhilaration I feel when I turn the key and hear the engine come to life (most
