Cub starting problem

I have a 1952 cub with a 6 volt system. I puchased it in march and it has run good for me until now. The problem started about a month ago when I would shut the tractor off and go to restart the tractor it would turn over a few times and would not start until it set for awhile. Then it would turn over slow and start sometimes. Now it turns over slow a few times and stops. If I leave it set for awhile it will turn over again then stop. I put a new battery and starter on it and I still have the same problem. Could someone please help me. Thank you very much
