I just did this on my Super M. I loosened all the main caps, then removed them one at a time for bearing replacement. This also helps make sure you woln't accidently swap the position of any of the caps. The main (as well as the rod) journels are machined as a pair and cannot be swapped to another position!!! I have seen two tractors now that this has happened on and the results are never good. To help get out the upper inserts, use a nail with the head sticking out of the oil hole and gently rotate the crank so that the insert comes out notch side first. Install the new insert by rotating the crank the other way until the notch is in it's place. Stan(VA).
