i'm told nothing beats a good "steam"cleaner,lots of hot,high pressure,moist air,not just high pressure warm water. keep a putty knife handy for the really heavy, baked on places.what you are trying to take off is essentially,hard rubber. spray the areas down with a cheap transmission fluid and let soak overnite between cleanings.go easy on the brass tag (carb). let a professional rebuild the carb,it's money saved in the long run.rule of thumb---don't install anything on the tractor that cannot be uninstalled (go back to origional).
