C generator pulley

Is the generator pulley on a Farmall C suppose to be adjustable, or is a solid one? Somebody converted it to 12 volt, and I'm converting it back. Someone told me the C had a solid pulley, and the belt tension was adjusted with an elongated slot in the mounting bracket. Thank you for your help in advance.
