George, A lot depends on whether or not the tractor will be garaged during the winter and how cold your "Winter" is going to be.

First on oil, I'd recommend SAE 20W oil if the temps are suspected down around zero to 20 above F. SAE 30W would be fine for temps above freezing and tractor is shedded. To service the oil filter, drain the housing below the filter and then remove the filter cover and slip in a new filter. Make sure you replace the "O" ring seal that the cover rests in as it is probably very old and hard. A new seal should come with the filter and you'll have to dig the old one out making sure it is all out before inserting the new seal. The new seal will go in easily if you coat it with motor oil before installing.

For anti-freeze, premix a 50/50 solution of anti-freeze and water. Drain the old stuff out of the drain tube that sits below the bottom radiator hose connection between the engine and the radiator. Turn the tractor over with the hand crank a few turns and most of the block will be drained as well as the radiator. Plug the drain and fill the radiator with the 50/50 mix.

If you will be using the tractor as a chore tractor during the winter, you may want to install a tank heater which will keep the anti-freeze/water warm and the engine won't be bone cold when you go to start it. If the tractor is still 6V system, ensure you have it well tuned up to ensure quicker cold start-ups.
