Nope,dont recollect any of those days.I wasnt born until 69!But......I do remember the same tractors used sitting in our barn at home covered in dirt and grease.I remember the Hs and Ms we used for smaller jobs,the 141 IH combine and the 45 John Deere combine we used.(My uncle still uses the 45.)I remember the 706 I learned to drive on,(and I learned to crash on and I learned to watch what I was doing on)I remember the No. 20 offset harrow I almost killed myself with.(I was really too young to be plowing at the time but I wanted to impress my Dad)All of our farm equipment was old,some of it older than others!But it all kept going strong.The only peice that I know of that isnt still working today is the 141 combine!Dad sold it after he quit farming and the guy who bought it chopped it into scrap metal.I really hate that too.

Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
