I got a "M" that "used" to do that....ya should pull the flywheel and replace the ring gear....but I pulled the starter and put never-seze on the shaft and when I replaced it after I had the bolts started good I used a small pry bar and pryed the starter out-ward from the housing and finished tightening while holding pry on it....been working for two yrs....I know it's only a band-aide.....but it kept me going.....(for now)...Good Luck..
