There are tons of ways to fix it depending upon the type of equipment you own. One of the quickest and strongest methods (short of adding sheet metal) is to get a fiberglass repair kit. Use the tape on the inside and then when it’s dry turn it over and use fiberglass gell on the outside. When it hardens sand it. I wouldn't worry about sanding the fiberglass inside the hood. If it’s rusted you'll want to get rid of that first. I have fixed all kinds of metal by this method and it works great.
