Foot pedal throttle control question.

I recently purchased an IH 5488 MFWD tractor with a Farmhand 1140 loader. One of the uses I am going to use this tractor for is as a loader tractor for 3'x3'x8' bales (I should be able to pick up 3 at a time). When I was looking around for tractors I looked at a Case IH tractor that had a foot pedal to control the throttle. Have any of you guys ever rigged up a foot pedal to run the throttle and how hard do you think it would be?
