The Farmall MD was a twelve volt system with two six volt batteries, one under the fuel tank, and one beside the seat. They were connected in series. I don't know if the Super had the single twelve or not. The gas version of the 400 was 6 volt, while I'm sure the diesel version was twelve. I don't know the battery set up on the 400 diesel either.
