Dad had a 560 diesel with the same engine as you with the glow plugs. He said about 1 minute during the summer, even if you just shut it off 20 minutes ago, and up to 2 minutes in the winter. He says it always started as long as the batteries were good, but had to have good glow plugs too. He also said one time that sometimes holding the glow plug button after it started for a few more seconds helped.
