I have one tractor with 45 degree, and another with 23 degree tires. I personally do not like the 45 degree tires. They do not grip well, and seem to pull up sod when you turn sharp corners. My 23 degree tires have much better grip, but this could also be becasue of the brand of tires, and not the angle of the tread. As to studies, I have no idea which tire is supposed to be better in what conditions.
