The big bearing retainer plug needs to be really tight. Get a big socket, or box end wrench that fits. Then go to a home supply store or a plumbing supply house and get a tube or RectorSeal 5. That is a teflon immulsion used to seal pipe threads. It's better than teflon tape. Clean everything up real good, make sure the part of the plug that bears against the bearing race is flat and smooth. Then coat the threads with the Rectorseal 5 and tighten it up real good with your big socket or box end. There are other brands of the Teflon immulsion stuff, also available at auto supply stores. It both seals and lubricates the threads and acts as antiseize. Wait about a day before you refill the steering gear oil after you have used the Rectorseal.
