Earnie...I think you will have a real hard time getting a pull type bush hog for a Cub for a couple of reasons. First, most require a 3 point hitch. Second, the Cub PTO turns the opposite direction as a regular PTO and it turns at the same RPMs as the engine (ie not 540 at a pre-set engine RPM) like others.)

Sooo..an off the shelf bush hog will not work. Woods or someone else might make one, but I'm not aware of any.

Belly mowers are by far the more popular and practical option and many used ones can be had for $300-400. The smaller 42" models with heavy blades work pretty well for light duty bush hogging, but if it is much more than tall grass or small seedlings you will run out of power in a big hurry.

Cubs of that vintage make on the order of 10-11 hp if everything is within specs (at the drawbar) and maybe an extra horse at the PTO.

That said, my '52 with a 60" Woods finish mower does well on lawns...so well my dad won't give it back to me without a fight and I wouldn't want to hurt the geezer.
