THE LINE YOU ARE REFERRING TO GOES FROM THE AIR CLEANER TO A FITTING THAT SHOULD BE PROTRUDING FROM THE REAR OF THE CYLINDER HEAD. THAT LINE IS TO ENSURE A FILTERED AIR SYSTEM FOR YOUR CRANCKASE VENTILATION SYSTEM. SOME PEOPLE PLUGGED IT AT THE HEAD FOR SOME REASON. IT CREATES MOISTURE IN THE CRANCKASE, WATER IN THE OIL IF YOU WILL AMONG OTHER PROBLEMS. I WOULD HOOK IT BACK UP IF IT WERE ME. GOOD LUCK.
