I just wired up lights on Old Smokey M over the weekend with used lights so I will give you my procedure on that installation. You probably won't have to remove the steering pedastal and clean under there. But remove the light bar. I took my surface grinder and ground the rust off the curved portion of the light bar that mates to the pedestal. Also grind the pedestal area so you get a good clean contact. Also grind about an inch of the light bar on each end. Next take a round file and file clean the inside of the clamps. Next grind the top of the clamps. Then grind the spacer if your lights have one between the clamp and the light. Make sure the bottom of the light assembly is clean where the spacer makes contact. These steps will ensure a good ground.
