Should you tell the wife before or after? I don't think it matters as long as there is heat in your shop, with winter coming on and all..... I didn't tell my wife before I bought my first tractor, then the pressure started to build because I had to make arrangements to have it delivered. I was waiting until we were having any other arguement to tell her so as not to spoil some good moment, but that didn't happen, so one summer afternoon sitting on the deck (after a couple of beers) I just up and blurted it out. Never had to do it but I think it's akin to having to tell your wife about your girlfriend - which it is, sort of. If you tell her before, you risk doing something she has already said "no" to. The other way, you just did something without "permission". Now that the ice is broken, I'll tell her before the next one. I keep softening her up with "it takes more than one tractor to have a collection". I knew "Molly" (Farmall Super M) was getting accepted when she asked me to use the tractor to pull the roots of an old bush she was trying to get rid of. It helps if they think you're a little daft before you start the process. Either way you go, good luck - hope you get to sleep in the big house before winter is over! (Actually this just makes for a good story, but you should have witnessed the looks on her face and the conversation she had with the guy who delivered the tractor. It would make this post too long, and you really had to be there, I suppose!)

The soil is a rich dark brown and is well looked after. unlike some areas in the midlands it is also fairly flat, broken only by hedgerows and the occasional valley and brook. A copse of wildbreaking silver birch and oak trees surround the top si
