It should run ok especially when it is cold, but it might start missing slightly if you get it hot while working hard. The manifold has baffles in it that direct heat to warm up the kerosene to vaporise it so it will ignite in the cylinders. Gasoline doesn't do that well when heated that hot and it will cause a miss. One note on modifying a regular for pulling. The crankshaft has only 2 ,TWO, main bearings.They are ball bearings and can't take super heavy loads well. If you bump up the compression and get the rpms up with larger cam grind and valves and open up the ports,you just might end up looking for a new crankshaft, not to mention a rearend. If I had a regular I would just enjoy getting it running as good as it was when brand new. I did that with my 10-20 and couldn't be happier. I also don't have to worry about breaking hard to find/expensive stuff.
