Yes, I ran into this when I added live hydraulics to my Series I Super M and moved the battery under the seat. The late M's and early Super M's used the shifter with two bends, the late Super M's and the MTA went back to what looks like the early M shifters with just a bend at the bottom. I asked a salvage yard for an MTA shifter to solve this (they charged a premium because they were 'proud' of their MTA shifter) and then shipped me the same one I had. I didn't know any better at the time, took several months to find and compare enough original tractors to realize it was the wrong one. Live and learn...
I ended up just heating and rebending mine. Straightened out the top bend and rotated the bottom a little.
