Q. I drove my uncles M and when I put it in 5th gear to go to the other farm, it goes in 5th but you have to hold the lever down or it will pop out of gear, but NOT INTO NETURAL. So, whats up with that??? Hes thinking about putting another rear end on it. Going over my stuff... Well I tore my tappet cover off my 45 A and found out that they had so much slop it looked like 1/8 of an inch!! So I got those snugged (Q. WHAT IS THE GAP FOR THESE?) and it runs so good it just smokes. But today I took it out of first gear and put it in reverse and the thing locked in gear! So I pulled the cover off, (its done this before; I thought Id fixed the problem) reset the forks, and carefully set it back in making sure to get the forks in the slots. But it was locked up in reverse! So I pulled it off again and took the shift lever off and put some JB weld on it, it was really wore and rounded off. Tomorrow Im going to try it again. I also got the power steering pump and hydrolic valves figured out. Got some lights and a rear light on it, too.
