Have you thought about the valve stem seals? I work at a diesel engine company and one of the engines we developed had a fair amount of oil in the overhead when it was running. When the engines idled overnight owners would see slobber coming out of the slip joints but would not be present when the engine was being loaded. Temps were hot enough to burn the oil. What we discovered were the valve stem seals were designed too loose so oil would seep down the stem during idling and would sludge up the exhaust ports. Just a thought. One other thought, if you suspect the turbo seal you might pull the intake hose from the exit of the turbo to the intake manifold. Look in and see if the intake is oily. Usually pretty clear sign the turbo seal is gone.
