Every year my family spend most of the fall hauling log from the hardwoods wood lots, maple, oak hickory, and some birch. Two yrs ago I had the machine shop make up a ski for the H and M,every summer I put a new set of brake shoes on both tractors. So we haul with two teams of Clydes and a team of Canadians:not a well known breed but big strong black workers.I,ve said all that to say those two tractors equiped with chains can move around through the bush as easy or easyer than the horses and haul about double at the end of the day.We will never part with the horses but those two tractors sure earn there keep, even the fuel consuption is great, and you don,t have to get up at five in the morning to feed them, just start em up 5min before your ready to go.What a great fall, looking forward to heading out to the big swamps after Christmas.!!WILL
