Do you have the old manifold off? If so, you might wire brush it until you find a logo or part number on it.

This should have been put together with a Ford straight 6 cylinder flathead engine. Engine should have originally been blue. A lot of them went into cars, pickups, and even into medium duty trucks of that age. Last year for them was 1951. Top of the head in roughly the center should be an oval Ford logo.

The Chrysler straight 6-cylinder flathead of that age would look similar though. I don't know where the logo would be on it.
