There is a story I heard recently that happened here in East Texas years ago...it is funny to me because I know some of the participants personally but may not be a knee slapper to you guys. A wealthy oil man that owned a ranch here was a die hard IH man (as I am). He was a close friend of the local JD dealer. He agreed to buy a new JD from his friend IF they would paint it red. His JD dealer friend agreed. When the guys in the back were scuffing the new green paint with sand paper before painting, the wealthy oil man strolled in and asked them "what are you guys doing to that new tractor?" to which one of the guys replied without hesitation, "some damn fool wants it painted red." The guy didn't say a word, just laughed and walked away. Noone knows if the worker ever found out what he said was to the "damn fool" directly, but it is a pretty good story that the local old timers like to laugh over. I recently saw a pic of a M painted green with JD fenders etc on it that made me sick too but...who cares....it makes some "damn fool" happy to make his tractor a freak. Doesn't bother my stash of Red Iron, so to each his own. Keith

No. I am just happy to have their friendship. At least the word "farmer" is in my title. But what is the attraction? How can I explain the sensation and exhilaration I feel when I turn the key and hear the engine come to life (most
