Sounds like you got a good deal. New tires and a fresh engine rebuild would have set you back at least that amount. The A should be well up to the task of mowing. Lots of guys on this board have mowers on them. Good luck finding a used one. They seem hard to locate, but they are out there.

Fleet Farm and Tractor Supply sell new finish mowers a little bit cheaper than a Woods dealer- if you have to go that route.
