It is most likely just the o-rings leaking. I went to a hydraulic service shop and they were able to match up the o-rings with replacements for a couple of $. Repair kits are available but the rings are probably all you need. The "o" rings actually have a square cross section. Disassembly and reassembly is pretty straight forward, just pay attention to how it comes apart and keep things clean. Make sure you don't reverse the lines when you put things back together.
