The M did not have live hydraulics, unless someone has added live stuff after market. Live hydraulics have pressure all the time that the engine is running. The M hyrdraulics run off the transmission, so the clutch has to be engaged for the system to generate hyrdaulic pressure. Than means the tractor must either be moving in a gear or the clutch engaged with the tranny in neutral. Also, the standard M hydraulics are one way only. They lift, but down is by gravity. You have to add a spool valve if you want two way hydraulics on the M. The spool valve was an option, but few had it.
