I did make an adjustment to the carb float as it was set way too low and causing the valve to stick. i.e. no gas going in to float bowl. If I turn the carb upside down the floats are set at level , just under 1/4". Also, thinking toward gov. because of the way the engine sounded better when I manually held the throttle lever right at the carb. I sure hope I did not forget to put something back in the gov. when I put it back on. I was careful not to remove the weights, bushing , etc... in fact I covered them with a plastic bag and left it alone (on the tractor) while I painted the body of the gov. Do you agree the high revving caused the over-heat? I would say 15 minutes running time , and certainly no more than 20.
